O God, loving Father, we sincerely thank your great benevolence, for the very gift of St. Euphrasia who attained sanctity through constant prayer and an ascetic life. St. Euphrasia, dearly beloved daughter of Mother Mary, we entrust to you, each one of us, Mother Church and the whole world.
Help us to offer our sufferings at the foot of the Cross, and to progress in life’s journey trusting in divine providence. Teach us to seek the Kingdom of God and His justice, guide us to grow in love of God and love of others through prayer and a life of mortification.
In all the critical situations of life, especially in this particular need…. St. Euphrasia, we plead your intercession. Amen.
3 Glory be……

The history of Carmel Convent High School is the history of the perennial grace overflowed to us from the bountiful mercy of god. Our Founding Principal, Sr. Clarissa with her ardent Zeal and prayerful vision started a school on 31st May 1984 with three students at Koramangala. There were no English Medium Schools during those days from Koramangala to Sarjapura. Till then good education was a dream for them. Realizing the felt need of imparting better education, we shifted to Carmelaram. This temple of knowledge planted and grown in the fertile soil of Carmelaram was a place of solace for the wisdom seekers from more than 35 villagers. Our humble beginning was in the post office building of O.C.D fathers. The seed sown 1984 sprouted and grew under the providential protection of god Almighty. There are so many memories to recall. The memories of changes and upheavals, of cherished hopes and fulfilled desires, of dreams and realities. A center for social work - Carmel Seva Kendra. Dommasandra is also a part of our apostolic activity. At this juncture of celebrating the silver jubilee of our institution, we look back at its small beginning and its present development. Presently we have 1717 students with 70 teaching and non-teaching staff. It is time for us to recount manifold blessings of god.

GOD IS ALWAYS NEAR ME
God is always near me
Hearing what I say
Knowing all my thoughts and needs
All my work and play
God is always near me
In the darkness of night
He can see me just the same
As by morning light
God is always near me
Though so young and small
Every thought and word and deed
But God knows in all

PRAYER

O! My God / I believe in you / I love you / I hope in you / O my God / bless me to be good / and help me in my studies / bless my father and mother / my brothers and sisters / my teachers / and all my fellow men. Amen.
It was on 13th of February 1866 that our congregation was founded by the combined efforts of Blessed Chavara KuriakoseElisa, a man of high vision and mission, and the Italian missionary Rev. Fr. Leopold Boccaro O.C.D.

Chavara KuriakoseElisa

This is the historical context in which Kuriakose Elias Chavara, a great champion of education in the Syro-Malabar community, rose as the morning star with his dreams and plans for a society in which all would be equal in matters of education irrespective of caste, creed, and sex. Chavara made the clarion call to initiate as a mission of the Church. While he was the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Verapoly, in charge of the Syrian Catholics, he ordered the parish authorities to establish schools attached to every parish church. Further, he made lessons in Sanskrit available to students of all the classes and castes who wanted to have access to higher education in that line. With the help of the two indigenous religious Congregations which he established, he tried to spread education to all parts of the region. Besides the parish, each monastery started a school.
God, the sources of all wisdom, I surrender myself to you. Oh God, enlighten my intellect, strengthen my memory, give me more concentration in studies. Bless me to remove all fear, distractions and obstacles in my studies and to study with courage and self – confidence and attain great success. Protect and safeguard me, parents, siblings, companions and my country.
Oh, Saint Chavara, through your prayers and services you were dear to God. You provided the setting for our forefathers to sit together and study without the distinction of caste, creed or colour at a time when education was not very common. You knew many languages and you are a friend of students. Oh, dear father, intercede for me before God, the heavenly Father, and obtain blessings from Him for all my needs especially for this particular favour….
